    B>πlνB -> \pi l \nu Form Factors Calculated on the Light-Front

    Full text link
    A consistent treatment of BπlνB\rightarrow \pi l \nu decay is given on the light-front. The BB to π\pi transition form factors are calculated in the entire physical range of momentum transfer for the first time. The valence-quark contribution is obtained using relativistic light-front wave functions. Higher quark-antiquark Fock-state of the BB-meson bound state is represented effectively by the Bπ|B^*\pi\rangle configuration, and its effect is calculated in the chiral perturbation theory. Wave function renormalization is taken into account consistently. The Bπ|B^*\pi\rangle contribution dominates near the zero-recoil point (q225q^2\simeq 25 GeV2^2), and decreases rapidly as the recoil momentum increases. We find that the calculated form factor f+(q2)f_+(q^2) follows approximately a dipole q2q^2-dependence in the entire range of momentum transfer.Comment: Revtex, 19 pages, 9 figure

    Confocal microscopic analysis of optical crosstalk in GaN micro-pixel light-emitting diodes

    © 2015 AIP Publishing LLC. The optical crosstalk phenomenon in GaN micro-pixel light-emitting diodes (LED) has been investigated by confocal microscopy. Depth-resolved confocal emission images indicate light channeling along the GaN and sapphire layers as the source of crosstalk. Thin-film micro-pixel devices are proposed, whereby the light-trapping sapphire layers are removed by laser lift-off. Optical crosstalk is significantly reduced but not eliminated due to the remaining GaN layer. Another design involving micro-pixels which are completely isolated is further proposed; such devices exhibited low-noise and enhanced optical performances, which are important attributes for high-density micro-pixel LED applications including micro-displays and multi-channel optical communications.published_or_final_versio

    Financial Crisis and the Comovements of Housing Sub-markets: Do relationships change after a crisis?

    Get PDF
    This study of the co-movements of the transaction prices and trading volumes reveal that the mean correlation of prices, and trading volumes alike, among different housing sub-markets increases during the market boom. After a financial crisis, the correlations drop dramatically and stay low. The distribution of the correlations changes from skewed to symmetric. All these coincide with the increase in the total variance of prices, as well as the share of the idiosyncratic component in the total variance after the crisis. These findings are consistent to a family of theories which emphasize on “regime switch” in expectation.financial crisis; hedonic pricing; structural break; evolution of valuation; rolling regression

    Nonperturbative Determination of Heavy Meson Bound States

    Get PDF
    In this paper we obtain a heavy meson bound state equation from the heavy quark equation of motion in heavy quark effective theory (HQET) and the heavy meson effective field theory we developed very recently. The bound state equation is a covariant extention of the light-front bound state equation for heavy mesons derived from light-front QCD and HQET. We determine the covariant heavy meson wave function variationally by minimizing the binding energy Λˉ\bar{\Lambda}. Subsequently the other basic HQET parameters λ1\lambda_1 and λ2\lambda_2, and the heavy quark masses mbm_b and mcm_c can also be consistently determined.Comment: 15 pages, 1 figur

    Session - Interactive 2.3: Multi-Band AntennasThe Conference program's website is located at http://www.iwat2014.org/index.php/program/detailed-programA dual-band multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna is proposed for the wireless-local-area-network (WLAN) applications in the 2.4-GHz and 5.2-GHz bands. The antenna consists of two double-T monopole elements with microstrip-fed and symmetrically placed on a substrate. To enhance isolation between the two monopole elements, three slots are cut on the ground plane on the other side of the substrate. The longer slot is used for better isolation in the 2.4-GHz band, while the two shorter slots are used for the 5.2-GHz band. Simulation and measurement are used to study the antenna performance in terms of S parameters, radiation patterns, realized gain, efficiency, and envelope correlation coefficient. Results show that the MIMO antenna has the two operation bands of 2.20-2.75 GHz and 5.09-5.50 GHz with mutual coupling of less than -15 dB and envelope correlation coefficient of less than 0.1, making it a good candidate for WLAN applications.published_or_final_versio
